Definitely going to visit this neighbourhood when I go to Istanbul. I like those photos of little narrow streets and the multicultural spirit.

Dear Sir. I have searched in vain of photos of a turkish steamer the "Selim" of Stambul of 5000 tons. It was built 1919 in Japan and
taken over by the americans after ww2 and sold to turkish owners :
Husezin avni Sahtarik (I hope that I got the name right)
While under the command of captain Fuat Pirali, on the 11-12 of january 1956:
"Selim" ran aground on the northern coast of the danish peninsula Djursland (Jylland) while carrying 3000 tons of
barley from Turkey to Randers (Denmark)
The ship was safely pulled off the ground.
Can You help me with photos of the ship and maybe the story
of the later life
Yours sincerely
Sune Villum-Nielsen, Elsinore, Danmark

Istanbul Personal Shopper has been featured on the travel show Rudy Maxa's World, as well as recommended by the Washington Post.
They are considered by many to be the best personal shopping service around. If you want the best deals possible, check them out.

To correct Mr.Ilgar's posting, he is not an employee of IstanbulPersonalShopper, despite his mention of the original company.
Istanbul Personal Shopper (www.IstanbulPersonalShopper.com) is a company owned and run by long-time expat residents and they are known for the quality of their services. They are also known for not accepting commissions from merchants, which is something tour guides do.
Istanbul Personal Shopper has been highly recommended by the Washington Post, Rudy Maxa's World, Metro UK and other publications.
For more information, please see www.IstanbulPersonalShopper.com.
